Welcome to pencaksilat.com. This site is dedicated to the Indonesian martial art of Pencak Silat, in particular the Serak style as passed down through the de Thouars and de Vries families. In the future it will include a lot of information about the principles, techniques, and curriculum of the system.

We are a practice group in the Portland OR/Vancouver WA area studying Serak under Guru Stevan Plinck. Beginning and intermediate classes are taught on a fluid schedule as are private lessons.

In addition to classes Guru Plinck gives seminars and has produced some tapes which are available for sale elsewhere on the site. The original on Bukti Negara is still available through Paladin Press. The first tape in the series on Serak has just come out (January 2002). The second tape is in production. Others will follow as time and the skill of the students permit.

We hope to keep an updated selection of links to Serak and other Silat sites as well as things which simply deserve more exposure. If you notice link-rot setting in please contact the webmaster.
